This document primarily addresses the problem of marshalling Java objects to and from external formats such as those based on XML, OO-RDBMS mappings or Java's built in object serialization mechanism. In particular it deals with the problem of locating and providing the classes and other resources required by marshalling processes, and with how OSGi can support the widely used context classloader paradigm.
